I think my favourite freeze frame has to be the devastating last shot of Oliver Reed in REVOLVER. I liked the way THE BIG RACKET shifted into DIRTY DOZEN made towards the end. And yes the build up to the final gunfight is really twitchy edge Shaun Anderson [The Celluloid Highway]https://www.blogger.com/profile/18066744649878418309noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5751360814489146754.post-43274861632239277292012-03-30T10:54:02.557+01:002012-03-30T10:54:02.557+01:00I just watched this puppy, and I must say, that I ...I just watched this puppy, and I must say, that I really enjoyed the hell out of it. A great write up, my friend... and a very fair one, too. I agree with you about the shoot out at the end, as it delivers the goods on all fronts. And as far as the final freeze frame goes: I loved it. To end a film with nearly zero resolution, other than showing its main character locked in a fit of pure rage, isGreg Stuart Smithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11939384500810162186noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5751360814489146754.post-878916981560179882011-08-14T23:50:34.978+01:002011-08-14T23:50:34.978+01:00Many thanks Brian - this is an interesting film, b...Many thanks Brian - this is an interesting film, but a little heavy handed in places. I don't think it is as thematically rewarding as the other crime flicks he made.Shaun Anderson [The Celluloid Highway]https://www.blogger.com/profile/18066744649878418309noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5751360814489146754.post-36796336078477346002011-08-14T23:41:59.846+01:002011-08-14T23:41:59.846+01:00This is probably my fave of Castellari's crime...This is probably my fave of Castellari's crime flicks and I do like Testi most of the time. A shame Castellari never worked with Maurizio Merli. It would have been interesting to see how such a film would have turned out. Great write up, Shaun!venoms5https://www.blogger.com/profile/13655919099947763891noreply@blogger.com
