One of my favorite British horr...I love this movie. One of my favorite British horror pictures. The thick as molasses atmosphere wins me over every time. I never thought much about Lovecraftian nuances here, but then I've never been much into Lovecraft. But it does of course set up a tension between an ancient Pagan faith and the modernity of the mainland. Like almost every aspect of THE WICKER MAN it is nigh on impossible to piegon hole it.
