I thought it would somehow damage me psychologically (acquaintances might say that it did). I'm sure I'd laugh at it now!Marbleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03534383792059369858noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5751360814489146754.post-40955660285350935012012-04-15T16:52:22.433+01:002012-04-15T16:52:22.433+01:00You may enjoy it Cal, its not without a certain ch...You may enjoy it Cal, its not without a certain charm. As I note in my review, its critical reputation is almost entirely derived from the nostalgic memories of those who either saw it at the time or on a repeat screening. A lot of these TV horror movies from the 1970's and early 1980's have left me quite disappointed. It's good to hear from you, hope all is well!Shaun Anderson [The Celluloid Highway]https://www.blogger.com/profile/18066744649878418309noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5751360814489146754.post-11736147921209241232012-04-03T13:52:32.871+01:002012-04-03T13:52:32.871+01:00Oh, I've always heard good things about this l...Oh, I've always heard good things about this like yourself but after that review I think I may have to take it off of my "need to watch soon list" and onto my "meh if its on telly (which will probably be never)". Sorry I haven't been on for a while, school's gotten on top of me and I've had some issues at home and stuff. Other childhood favourites that do nothing for me now include THE LOST BOYS and HIGHLANDER. I'll take your word for it that ROBOT JOX sucks, I have yet to view it a second time.Shaun Anderson [The Celluloid Highway]https://www.blogger.com/profile/18066744649878418309noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5751360814489146754.post-54460488031154140932012-03-26T19:31:15.652+01:002012-03-26T19:31:15.652+01:00I've watched films out of nostalgia as most of...I've watched films out of nostalgia as most of us do, but if it sucks, it sucks! It happened to me the other day with Stuart Gordon's Robot Jox which at one point I enjoyed, but now, nostalgia or not I realize its a film that sucks big time.Franco Macabrohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10994905312221715861noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5751360814489146754.post-35210296974476312862012-03-26T19:11:38.411+01:002012-03-26T19:11:38.411+01:00@ Franco - Yes as I mentioned in my opening paragr...@ Franco - Yes as I mentioned in my opening paragraph nostalgia plays a major part in these films. It's not a bad thing as such, people can like a film for any reason they wish. I've yet to see it myself, as I am mildly curious as to how the gargoyles look, but in accordance to your review, I'm not expecting a lot more than cool monster effects by Winston.Franco Macabrohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10994905312221715861noreply@blogger.com
