"There is evil in the world. There are dark, awful things. Occasionally, we get a glimpse of them. But there are dark corners; horrors almost impossible to imagine... even in our worst nightmares" - Van Helsing (Dracula AD 1972)

Captain Kronos! I remember him.
ReplyDeleteGod, that takes me back.
Yo, that's some hot stuff (obviously).
ReplyDeleteI remember that poster with the band-aids from when I was young, seeing it in the newspaper... I think. I got a shudder. You're shit's awesome.
These are truly glorious. A few--CAUCHEMAR DE DRACULA, VAMPIRI AMANTI, RISEN FROM THE GRAVE w/ Band-Aid and bosom--are at the top of my list of favorite horror movie posters ever. They just don't make 'em, etc. Also: *finally* got to see VAMPIRE CIRCUS just last night on Netflix instant streaming. Fun fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by fellas - I too love the 'Risen from the Grave' poster, I'd never seen that one before, and was impressed because its not your usual Hammer poster as the remainder of the images testify. I also think the trio of posters for 'Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires' are particuarly strong. Interesting you mention 'Vampire Circus' Will, this film has gained a reputation in recent years that I just dont get at all...aside from its surreal touches and weird premise, I think its quite dull.
ReplyDeleteJumping on the bandwagon, the first one that caught my attention was the band-aid one. Funny, yet provocative. Wow, look at the boobies on the girl in the top corner on Dracula AD 1972 Japanese poster! The Scars of Dracula second German poster looks very amateurish - they could have done better than that!
