  1. A fantastic post, Shaun. The CHINA TOWN posters are some of my favorites of all time; it's one of my favorite films of all time, too. Another favorite of mine is FRANTIC, a film of Polanski's that gets lost in the shuffle, I think. It's a true nail bitter and Ford is fantastic in it as the distraught husband who is desperately trying to find out what's happened to his wife. For anyone who has or does travel abroad with loved ones, I think it is a frightening film indeed.

  3. @ Greg - Many thanks! I recently picked CHINATOWN up on blu-ray and it looks magnificent...Polanski's films from 1965 to 1976 were so tight and disciplined, none more so than CHINATOWN. A lot of his films got lost in the shuffle when he fled the United States...but I too think a great deal of FRANTIC...anyone who appreciates the films of Hitchcock will get a lot out of it. Perhaps that is why it has been marginalised...just a little too Hitchcockian? Have you seen BITTER MOON? If not, you'd really enjoy Peter Coyote hilarious performance.

@ Septor - thanks for the kind words :-)
